Clint Strange (top) of Macon had the best-scoring deer from District 18, which qualified him for the drawing for the Chevy Colorado. In August 2007, at the GON Outdoor Blast, he won that drawing. Shorty Cason (bottom) had the best-scoring SEEDS deer from District 7, which earned him a spot in a drawing for a deer hunt at Little River Plantation. He won that drawing and will collect his deer hunt in November 2007.
Hey kids, want to go on a deer hunt in Texas? Here's your chance!
Grand-prize winner
The grand-prize winner in the 2007 SEEDS Big-Buck Contest is headed to Texas on a trophy-buck hunt. The winning kid will bowhunt (or crossbow) for free-ranging whitetails on a 3,000-acre ranch near Hondo, Texas. The trip offers our SEEDS winner the chance to shoot the buck of a lifetime. The winning kid will also get to hunt hogs, turkey, a host of small game and go bass fishing. For those who have never shot a bow or crossbow, plenty of instruction will be part of this trip.
This all-expense paid hunting trip includes air-fare, licenses, lodging and meals. It's being sponsored by Flies & Fletching, Arrowdynamic Solutions and country-music singer Roland Whitt.
This six-day dream trip will take place in December. A cameraman, who will act as a hunting guide, will be hunting with the winning kid and his/her one parent or guardian. At the end of the hunt our youth will be given a DVD of the adventure.
Runner-up
This year's sponsors are being real generous. They've insisted on taking two SEEDS to Texas! The runner-up in the 2007 SEEDS Big-Buck Contest will hunt the same ranch and can shoot three does, one spike buck, hogs, turkey and small game. The hunt will also last six days and take place in December.
